Spring is a retailer of men’s and women’s shoes, with locations primarily found in shopping malls.
Aldo Bensadoun, founder of Aldo Groupe,[1] founded Spring in 1991 under the name Transit,[2][3] with locations primarily in Canada.[4] With the expansion of the chain across the United States, the name of some stores was changed to Transit Spring.[5] By 2008, all the stores were renamed Spring.[4]
During 2010 the company made a major announcement which will lead to it expanding in the American market. Aldo Group and JCPenney announced the launch of the Call It Spring brand which will sell as a shop-in-shops concept in JCPenney stores across the United States.[6] The Call It Spring concept is expected to be in 600 JCPenney stores by the fall of 2011 and JCPenney will be the only department store retailer of the brand.
